The Sickle Support and Health Access Initiative is a non-profit health-focused organisation dedicated to improving access to care for individuals living with sickle cell disease and underserved populations.
The organisation is well structured with clearly defined roles, responsibilities and hierarchy among members to ensure a functional system is in place to maintain accountability and standard quality control methods.
Through direct support with healthcare service delivery, research with credible information systems, and community-driven initiatives, we aim to reduce preventable suffering and improve health outcomes.
Currently operational in Benue State, Nigeria, with goals of expanding to other states in North Central Nigeria and beyond.
Our direct beneficiaries include sickle cell disease patients from low socio-economic backgrounds. Internally displaced persons with limited access to essential health care services and other small low-resource communities within North Central Nigeria. Other indirect beneficiaries include the Nigerian health information and financing systems and the Nigerian labour market
